When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information, including:

3. SMS & Phone Communications

LocalVR uses Twilio to provide customer support by phone call and text message (SMS). These are transactional and service-related communications — such as reservation and stay coordination, homeowner and guest support, scheduling, account notifications, and responses to your inquiries. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages through this program.

3.1 Consent

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in — through a form on our website, during a booking, or by texting us directly — you consent to receive transactional and service-related SMS messages from LocalVR. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

3.2 Opt-Out and Help

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you reply STOP, we will send a single confirmation message and then stop sending SMS messages, except as needed to complete an active transaction. 3.3 No Sharing of Mobile Information for Marketing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in and consent information is never shared with any third party. Your mobile phone number is shared only with the service providers that deliver our messaging and voice services (such as Twilio), and solely to provide the communications described in this policy.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with the following categories of third parties:

  • Service Providers: Stripe (payment processing), Salesforce and Intercom (customer relationship management and support), PostHog (analytics), Twilio (SMS messaging), Resend (transactional email delivery)
  • Property Owners: Limited information necessary to facilitate your reservation
  • Legal Authorities: When required by law, court order, or governmental regulation

  • Stripe — Payment processing
  • Salesforce — Customer relationship management
  • Intercom — Customer support and messaging
  • PostHog — Product analytics
  • Google — Maps, Analytics, and reCAPTCHA
  • Twilio — SMS text messaging and phone call delivery for customer support and program communications, plus phone number validation. Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely to deliver messages and calls on our behalf and to verify your number. Twilio does not use your data for its own marketing purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for delivering program-related emails (registration confirmations, voting reminders) on our behalf
  • Neon — Serverless database hosting for securely storing registration data

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services for details on how they handle your data. Your information is shared with these providers only to the extent necessary to deliver our services, and we require that they protect your data in accordance with applicable laws.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
