The Perfect 3-Day Winter Itinerary for Breckenridge

3 Perfect Days in Breckenridge

Planning out itineraries for your next vacation might sound like a chore to some, but for those who get excited about travel and want to make the most of their time, it’s a smart move to plan ahead.

However, if you don’t have the time or the energy to do it all yourself, allow us to show you the best of Breck with this 3-day winter itinerary. You’ll get to treat yourself with a trip to the spa and some fine dining restaurants, spend a day skiing or boarding the slopes, and finally, get a chance to walk around and check out some of Breck’s best shops, boutiques, and art galleries before heading back home.

Day 1: Settle in at the Spa and Eat Like a King

9:00am: On your first morning in Breckenridge, it’s a good idea to eat a delicious breakfast to celebrate arriving at your vacation destination, so head over to BoLD Restaurant. Here, you’ll find creative spins on classic American cuisine, such as the Breakfast Pot Pie or the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, to fill up on before a full day of pampering and feasting.

11:00am: After a scrumptious breakfast, it’s time to begin your day of relaxation and serenity, starting with a trip over to Grand Lodge’s Soothe Spa. Relax in their world-famous Grotto before your spa service begins. As for services, choose from a variety of massage treatments, facials, and body treatments.

2:00pm: To continue your luxurious day, take a trip over to a fine dining restaurant for lunch: Blue River Bistro, found on North Main Street. The Bison Short Ribs or the Poke Bowl menu items are a great choice for a delicious meal, but there are plenty of soups and salads to choose from if you want to go a bit lighter to save some room for dinner.

4:00pm: A day spent treating yourself can be a tiring effort, so after lunch, head back to your accommodation to rest and recuperate before your next fine dining adventure for the day.

6:00pm: Reserve a table at Aurum Food & Wine, an inviting fine dining establishment housed in a classic Breck home on South Ridge Street. Here, you’ll not only receive great service and tasty cocktails, but the menu is to-die-for, with innovative modern New American dishes that are sure to please your taste buds.

Day 2: Spend a Day on the Slopes

8:00am: It’s a good idea to get an early start if you’re planning to head to the slopes for the day, so take a quick trip over to La Francaise French Bakery for some pastries and coffee to give you slope-side energy.

9:00am to 1:00pm: Head over to Breckenridge Ski Resort for your skiing or boarding fun for the day.

2:00pm: You’re likely to be quite hungry by now, but you might not want to interrupt your skiing or boarding to trek down the mountain and find a place to eat. Check out Ski Hill Grill for some eats if you’re riding down the trails of Peak 8 or The Dawg Haus for a gourmet hot dog if you happen to be skiing on Peak 7.

3:00pm to 5:00pm: After a lunch to refuel yourself, head back up the chairlifts to enjoy a full day of skiing or boarding.

6:00pm: A long day spent on the slopes deserves a delicious and casual dinner, so take a walk over to Downstairs at Eric’s for some casual dinner eats and a few beers to celebrate your successful Breckenridge day.

Day 3: Walk, Shop, and Feast Your Eyes on Breckenridge Art

9:00am: Start your day off right with a trip over to The Columbine Cafe, perhaps one of the best-known breakfast restaurants in Breck. Try out their pancakes or breakfast burritos for a filling pick-me-up before your shopping begins.

10:00am to 1:00pm: Beginning on the south end of Main Street, check out some of the shops and boutiques scattered along the main area of town. Take a look at this blog for a few recommendations of where to stop while you’re shopping in Breckenridge.

2:00pm: Once you’ve exhausted yourself with walking and shopping, it’s time to grab lunch at a local favorite: Soupz On. This little hole in the wall might seem nondescript from the outside, but it’s one of the most popular lunch spots in town for its delicious soup, which is perfect for a cold Breck day.

3:00pm to 6:00pm: The next stops on your walking tour will be a feast for your eyes. For more information, take a look at this blog on Breckenridge art galleries or this one on the best outdoor art in the area.

7:00pm: For your final night in Breckenridge, it’s time to head over to somewhere special to end your trip on the right note. We recommend either Ember or Hearthstone for a night of fancy eats and incredible atmosphere.
